As Thanksgiving approaches and the hustle and bustle of the holiday season follows, I thought I would write about all the things I am thankful for. I have such a great life that I share here on ReNanaMom but haven’t really said how thankful I am.

First is my husband, Myles. He has worked so hard in the almost 34 years that we’ve been married and continues to provide a great life for us. We’ve been traveling since 2005 and will hopefully be able to continue in the future. I am very grateful for all that he does. He is my best friend and soul mate.

We have a large family, 6 grown children, 5 have families of their own. Our son and daughters in law are perfect matches for our children. We have a total of 13 Grandchildren as of this post. This year we became Great Grandparents twice…I still can’t believe it!  I absolutely love having a large family. It makes our life very interesting and fun. I am thankful for each and every one of our family members because they each bring something different to the table.

I am thankful that my parents are healthy and able to join us for family get togethers. When we are all together, they sit back and watch all of the activity around them. I think they get overwhelmed by it all because they are very quiet sometimes, but I know they enjoy it all. It’s a lot to take in all at once because there are so many of us, but I think they are finally getting use to it after all these years. Maybe not…I should ask them some day.

I am thankful for my sister and nephew’s. Even though we don’t talk or see each other often they are family, and family is everything.

I am thankful for our extended family members, brothers in law, sisters in law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, even my mother and father in law, my grandparents, Myles’ grandparents, my brother, Myles sister, all who have left this earth years ago. I miss them every day, but know they are all watching over us. Maybe that’s why we have such a blessed life……

I am thankful for my health and Myles’ health.

I am thankful for all of the trips we’ve taken, some were vacations and others were work related. I am thankful that I can do the sight seeing on the work related trips so that I can add to my blog.

I am thankful for all of our vacations and the scuba diving adventures.

I am thankful that Myles and I were able to become certified scuba divers. It is such a fun sport! There is so much to see under the water, and there are so many places we want to dive.

I am thankful every day for our safety while traveling, working around the house, or just relaxing. Anything can happen in this crazy world at any time. You have to enjoy every minute of every day.

I am thankful for all of the people we have met over the years during our trips. Some have become good friends. Myles and I are able to keep in touch through social media and of course the old fashioned way via the telephone. We have been lucky enough to visit some them.

I am thankful for the friends that we have at home. Some come and go, others live far away. You know a person is a good friend when you can go days, weeks, months, or even years without seeing each other and the minute you are together it’s like no time has past. They are your true friends.

I am thankful for the beauty in this world. We as society seem to take so much for granted and don’t look to see the beauty that surrounds us every day. Whether that beauty is in the landscape or a person, I appreciate it all.

I am thankful for our Military and First Responders, this includes Myles, our son Chris, and other members of our family. Without them we would be living in a very different world.

I am thankful for the food that we have every day and the ability to cook that food.

I am thankful for the ability to learn new things every day. You should never stop learning.

I am thankful for all of the conveniences we have in our lives. Electricity, air conditioning, heat, internet, cell phones, cars, a bed, a home, all of this and more are normal to us here in the United States, but there are people in the world that cannot afford or it’s not available to them.

I am thankful for the ability to create this blog and for the people that read it. I hope to always write things that interest and or help people. Even though this is a new blog, my aim is to continue for years to come.

There is so much more to be thankful for. Take a look at your life and really think about all that you have. There are people in this world that would love to have just 1 of those things to make their life a little better but are very thankful for the little they do have. We can all learn a few things from them.

I hope you all have a safe, healthy and happy Thanksgiving!!
